Work in Progress 7
Here are some photos of the most recently completed painting; Excavated Landscape with Lamp. This painting has now been glazed with a few layers of transparent colour. It intends to relate coal mining practices to our everyday lives.
I have added some details of the work for your interest.
I have asked James, my local framer (House of Frames, Wandal) to frame the last two paintings. I have so far framed all of the larger works using simple Tasmanian oak stock from Bunnings. For this painting and the next one, James has already ordered the moulding lengths. It is a somewhat risky move choosing the moulding before adding any colour to the canvases. I hope the moulding works nicely to support the painting.
