Opening Night
Opening night was a hoot, with the gallery packed to the light fittings. I am so grateful to so many people for their support and good will leading up to and including the exhibition period. Many thanks to BMA, Saraji for exclusive access to their operation. As also noted on the night, many thanks to the gallery staff at the Rockhampton Art Gallery for the opportunity to exhibit in one of the best galleries in Australia. It was such a pleasure to work with a fine-tuned group of professionals who are also genuinely warm and generous people. Thanks also to Prof. Bill Blayney for his support and words on the evening. Many thank yous are also extended to my friends who have assisted in diverse and important ways, the most notable of which would be Lisa Gaze. However, I am most grateful to my family and reserve the biggest thanks for you. Carmen, Jasper and Lucas, Mum, Dad, Jason and Melinda, thank you for your patience and support.
One of the works was successfully auctioned on the evening with all proceeds going to the Cambodian Bamboo Shoot School appeal. The funds will assist in the purchase of study desks and flooring. Again, thanks Lisa for supporting the appeal and auction. I hope that your new painting brings many years of viewing pleasure.
